Unlike like litigation the parties choose their own mediator(s) to present their issues. Mediation is voluntary. The outcome is intended to be consensual whether or not a final agreement is reached by the parties. Mediators do not have the authority to impose the result of the conflict but aid the parties to determine their own result.
A confidential process, the Parenting time Expediter process provides another statutory method of resolving disputes. Minnesota Statute 518.1751 provides this method of parenting time resolution. The prociess includes mediation and arnbitration methos to resolve parenting time disputes.
Assistance is available for parents in high conflic cases by employing a parenting consultant pursuant to a cour order or appointment contract to assist the parens in in implimenting their parenting plan by timely facilitation of the existing parenting disputes. The children's and parents' needs may be assisted by the parenting consultant.
